    Frequently asked questions

Is QLED better than LED for everyday TV viewing?

QLED TVs typically offer brighter images and richer color than standard LED models, making them a strong choice for living rooms and daytime viewing. LED TVs can still deliver good value, especially in smaller or darker rooms.

Do TVs under $800 support 120Hz and HDMI 2.1?

Some TVs under $800 include a 120Hz refresh rate, VRR, and HDMI 2.1, but features vary by model and screen size. Check the specifications carefully if you plan to use a PS5, Xbox Series X, or gaming PC.

What peak brightness should I look for in a living-room TV?

A brighter TV is easier to see in rooms with windows or strong lamps and can make HDR highlights more impactful. For typical everyday viewing, prioritize a model with good brightness and effective reflection handling rather than brightness alone.

Which HDR formats matter when buying a TV in the US?

HDR10 is widely supported, while Dolby Vision can improve compatible movies and shows with dynamic picture adjustments. HDR10+ is also useful on supported content, but overall panel quality and streaming-app support are usually more important.
