    Frequently asked questions

Should I choose OLED or QLED for a bright UK living room?

For bright, sunlit rooms, QLED or Mini-LED TVs like the Hisense U7N offer higher peak brightness to combat glare. If you primarily watch in ambient or darker settings, OLED models like the LG C6 provide unmatched contrast and perfect black levels.

Do these TVs support UK catch-up services like BBC iPlayer and ITVX?

Yes, all recommended models from LG, Samsung, and Hisense feature localized smart platforms that support essential UK streaming services including BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, and My5.

Is a 120Hz refresh rate necessary for everyday TV viewing?

While standard UK broadcast television is shown at 50Hz, a 120Hz refresh rate with VRR and HDMI 2.1 is highly beneficial for judder-free movie playback, live sports, and smooth next-gen console gaming.

Which HDR formats are most important for UK streaming platforms?

You should look for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, as UK streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and Apple TV+ utilize these dynamic formats to automatically optimize contrast and color scene-by-scene.
