Frequently asked questions

What laptop specs should a student in Spain look for under €2,000?

For everyday coursework, look for a recent processor, at least 16 GB of memory and an SSD with enough capacity for your files and apps. Students using demanding creative or technical software should also check graphics performance and software compatibility.

Which student laptop is easiest to carry around campus?

Compare the laptop’s weight and charger size, not just its screen dimensions. The Asus Zenbook 14 is a compact option, while the larger-screen LG gram Pro 16 and MacBook Air 15 may suit students who prioritise more workspace.

How much battery life do students need for a day of classes?

Aim for a laptop that can handle several hours of notes, browsing and video calls away from an outlet. Actual battery life varies with screen brightness, workload, Wi-Fi use and battery condition, so check independent tests as well as manufacturer estimates.

Are these laptops suitable for university software in Spain?

They can suit many study needs, but check the operating system and requirements for your course’s essential apps before buying. This is especially important for specialist engineering, design or science software, and for programs that require Windows.
